TUI Group is the world’s number one integrated tourism business.  Within TUI Group, TUI Airline regroups all airline activities across UK, Nordics, Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Morocco, France, and the Dutch Antilles.  Airline Safety is a function within our airline operator’s organisation responsible for ensuring and develop all aspects of the airline operator safety management system (SMS). The Airline Safety function operates as a multi-disciplinary team of experts driving efficiency and innovation. 

As Cabin and Ground Safety Officer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day analysis of cabin and ground related safety data from across the airline as part of the integrated safety management system and provide a direct link between the cabin crew workforce and the Safety Team. You will support the development and implementation of the company Safety Management System (SMS). You will provide assistance in all areas of the SMS but will have a particular focus on cabin and ground safety issues. Ground includes ground operations as well airline operations (TOCC and GOC).

This is a non-flying role.

In this role, you’ll report to the Aviation Safety Manager.

ABOUT THE JOB 

  • Lead safety investigations, including international and cross-disciplinary issues.
  • Conduct and ensure quality Root Cause Analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Analyse safety data to identify and address trends.
  • Identify and report hazards and risks.
  • Oversee hazard identification, risk analysis, and change management for cabin and ground activities.
  • Monitor safety activities of service providers.
  • Serve as a liaison between cabin crew and the Safety department.
  • Promote open reporting of events, hazards, and near misses.
  • Create safety promotion materials.
  • Participate in key safety meetings.
  • Provide safety expertise to operational departments.
  • Support TUI airline safety projects and initiatives.
  • Advocate for Safety and Just Culture across the organisation.

ABOUT YOU

  • Significant experience as a Cabin Crew member in a commercial airline.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong influencing, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Passionate about safety and human factors, with an understanding of Safety Management Systems.
  • Computer literate.
  • Investigator qualifications are a plus.
  • Comfortable in a multidisciplinary, international, and multicultural environment.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Ability to challenge senior stakeholders and build effective relationships at all levels.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong business English skills, both spoken and written, with potential for international travel.
