AI in our Recruitment Process
A human approach, supported by technology
At TUI, we're using AI and technology to make your recruitment journey smoother, fairer and more efficient. And we want to be totally upfront about how these tools support us - and where people make the final call.
Technology helps us manage the process and keep things moving along, but it's our recruitment teams who bring the judgement, expertise and genuine conversations that make your experience with us feel, well, human. Because at the end of the day, we're looking for real people to join our team - and that takes real human connection.

Supporting people, not replacing them
AI helps us manage large volumes of applications and improve candidate experiences, but our recruitment teams remain at the heart of the hiring process.

Fairness & transparency
We regularly review our processes to ensure they are fair, responsible and aligned with our recruitment principles.

Protecting your data
Any technology we use must meet our privacy, security and data protection requirements.
Where you may see AI in the recruitment process
AI is becoming part of the recruitment process, and we think that's a good thing. It can help you find the right opportunities more easily and keep you in the loop throughout your journey with us. How we use it varies depending on the role, location and stage you're at.
We use technology to support our recruitment teams and make things smoother for you, but people are always at the heart of our decisions. AI helps with the process, but it'll never replace the real conversations, human judgement and expertise that matter when you're joining TUI.

Application
How AI is used - Supporting recruiters with application processing and organisation
We use AI-enabled tools to help our recruitment teams process and organise applications efficiently. Automated screening may be used to check applications against minimum requirements, but AI doesn't score, rank or assess your overall suitability. Our recruiters and hiring managers review applications and decide who progresses.

Assessment
How AI is used - Some assessment providers may use AI-enabled technology
Some of our assessment providers use AI-enabled technology to support specific assessments, like evaluating English-language proficiency or creating interactive experiences. Assessment results are reviewed by our recruitment teams or evaluated against set benchmarks to determine who moves forward.

Interview
How AI is used - Interviewing remains a human-led process
Your interview is an opportunity to showcase your skills and experience. Depending on the role, this might be a live conversation with our people or a pre-recorded video interview. AI might support practical elements like scheduling, but all recruitment decisions are made by our teams, not technology. Some interviews may be transcribed to help our interviewers focus on the conversation rather than note-taking, and you can opt out if you prefer.

Offer
How AI is used - Chatbots or automated communications may help answer questions and provide updates
AI-enabled tools may help draft and automate routine communications, like emails and responses to common questions. Sunnie, our virtual career assistant, can also answer your enquiries. All hiring decisions, salary offers and recommendations are made by people.
Real people, real decisions
Because hiring decisions need a human touch
AI can support parts of our recruitment process, but it doesn't make decisions about who joins TUI. Our trained recruitment professionals and hiring managers remain responsible for recruitment decisions.
