We are looking for a talented and dedicated technical enthusiast to join our “Corporate” technology organisation. It is a global team within TUI technology responsible for Finance, HR and other corporate solutions and services with a focus on SAP applications. We are a multi-disciplinary team of experts across Architecture, Engineering, Application Support and Agile Delivery providing central services across various countries.

ABOUT THE JOB

As a Senior SAP Basis Consultant you are a practitioner and an advocate of state-of-the-art infrastructure services and SAP technology products, including awareness for audit and security requirements. Working in an agile environment and keeping up with the ever-evolving technical landscape you are a lifelong learner and like to think outside the box. 

You will drive the operation and maintenance of our SAP applications through the entire technology stack, starting with infrastructure services, the operating systems and databases, right up to the SAP applications. You contribute your experience of secure and stable system operation and take an active part in upcoming projects of system migrations to AWS and release upgrades to e.g. SAP S/4HANA. You represent our team as a strong partner to our stakeholders. 

• Perform installation, configuration and maintenance of our SAP system landscapes, including the technology stack of:
  •  SAP S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, ERP, Solution Manager, AS Java
  • HANA, DB2 and Oracle databases
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux
• Ensure stable system operation, monitor and analyze system performance
• Carry out system copies, installations and upgrades independently
• Perform technical migrations to new SAP technologies e.g. S/4HANA
• Primary contact for our application and development teams for SAP Basis related topics
• Manage EC2 instances and other AWS workloads and services
• Implement our security guidelines for the technology stack used
• Prepare architectural design, technical specifications and other documentation

ABOUT YOU 

• Excellent technical understanding of SAP administration with a minimum of 5 years of experience

• Solid understanding of SAP maintenance and administration tools

• Good knowledge in database administration: HANA mandatory, DB2 & Oracle optional

• Experienced handling of shell environments including basic Linux administrator skills

• Good understanding in usage and mapping of on-premise infrastructure and cloud services

• Basic knowledge in AWS technologies

• Communication: Fluent German and English is desirable. Ability to abstract, clear and effective expression

• Analytical: Identify, analyze and solve complex issues, sharing knowledge

• Time management: Planning and organization of activities and tasks and meet deadlines 

• Flexibility: Problem solving mentality, work independently, identify solutions, acquire new skills on your own, handle changing requirements

• Customer orientation: Service oriented way of thinking, understand customer’s needs and expectations, reliable to others

IHRE AUFGABEN

Als Senior SAP Basis Consultant sind Sie Praktiker und Verfechter modernster Infrastrukturdienste und SAP-Technologieprodukte – einschließlich eines Bewusstseins für Audit- und Sicherheitsanforderungen. Sie arbeiten in einem agilen Umfeld, sind stets lernbereit und denken gerne über den Tellerrand hinaus.

Sie verantworten den Betrieb und die Wartung unserer SAP-Anwendungen über die gesamte Technologie-Stack hinweg – von den Infrastrukturdiensten über Betriebssysteme und Datenbanken bis hin zu den SAP-Anwendungen. Sie bringen Ihre Erfahrung in sicherem und stabilem Systembetrieb ein und wirken aktiv an bevorstehenden Projekten wie Systemmigrationen zu AWS und Release-Upgrades, z. B. auf SAP S/4HANA, mit. Zu Ihren Aufgaben gehören:

IHR PROFIL

• Exzellentes technisches Verständnis in der SAP-Administration mit mindestens 5 Jahren Erfahrung
• Fundierte Kenntnisse in SAP-Wartung und Administrationstools
• Gute Kenntnisse in Datenbankadministration: HANA zwingend erforderlich, DB2 & Oracle optional
• Erfahrung im Umgang mit Shell-Umgebungen sowie grundlegende Linux-Administrator-Kenntnisse
• Gutes Verständnis für die Nutzung und Abbildung von On-Premise-Infrastrukturen und Cloud-Diensten
• Grundkenntnisse in AWS-Technologien
• Zusätzliche Fähigkeiten:
• Kommunikation: Fließend in Deutsch und Englisch wünschenswert, klare und effektive Ausdrucksweise
