Global Uniform Designer

Reporting into the Global Senior Uniform Manager, the Global Uniform Designer is a key player in TUI’s Global Brand team. As well as uniforms, this team is responsible for everything concerning TUI’s brand strategy, identity and advertising campaigns.

You will play an important role in designing, developing, reviewing and illustrating uniform collections and workwear guidelines for TUI, which includes the TUI Masterbrand and its portfolio of sub-brands, such as TUI Blue Hotels, Marella Cruises, Crystal Ski etc.

You will work on the design execution of all kinds of ranges and items – from tailored suits to romper suits, from aprons to sports shorts. You’ll generate ideas for collections, items and fabrics and produce look book drawings, detailed collection overviews and technical specs regarding colours, fabric compositions and branding. As such, your Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Clo3ed and PowerPoint skills will be first class. You’ll also be responsible for digitally filing all design documents in a cohesive and organised manner. You will work in close coordination with the Global Uniform Product Developer and in-house creative teams, as well as our manufacturers of corporate wear items.

ABOUT THE JOB

Key responsibilities include:

• Illustration: Help bring to life TUI’s uniform collections and Look Books by means of detailed design illustrations for all seasons, destinations and business units.
• Design: Come up with new designs, for any part of the business, in line with the TUI Brand ID, trends in fashion and textiles, sustainability ánd stakeholder requirements.
• Technical Drawings: Produce technical drawings and design specifications of garments and merchandise, including information on colours, measurements, fabric compositions and branding.
• Design Reviews: Assist in the yearly review of all uniform ranges across the tour operator, airline, cruises and the experience businesses ensuring wearers’ wellbeing, style consistency and alignment with brand identity.
• Wearer Guidelines: Support in the creation and maintenance of TUI’s uniform look books, collection guideline overviews and technical specs.
• Digital Filing System: Organise and maintain TUI’s digital filing system for all aspects of uniform design.
• Sample Control: Help to review samples and prototype garments and items.
• Design & Illustration Support: Provide design support to TUI’s Global Marketing team on an ad-hoc basis, including photoshoots and events.

ABOUT YOU

To excel in this role you should possess: 

• Degree in fashion design with a professional portfolio to support
• 2 to 3 years of fashion design experience – expertise in uniform or product design a bonus
• Professional experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Clo3ed, Microsoft Office and any other essential workplace technologies
• In-depth fashion and trend knowledge
• Great working knowledge of fabrics and textiles
• Excellent communication skills with an emphasis on collaboration between multiple international stakeholders
• Proactive self-starter with a hands-on attitude who’s comfortable managing a high workload with competing priorities
• Disciplined, organized and accurate with an eye for detail
• Ability to work independently and think flexibly and creatively as business requirements evolve
• Fluent in business English – preferably with a second European language
