Flugdienstberater-Lizenztraining – Praktische Phase (Phase 2)

Have you already completed your theoretical training?

Complete the practical phase of your Flight Operations Officer (FOO) license training.

Our practical Phase 2 forms the second part of the German training pathway to becoming a licensed Flight Operations Officer (FOO) and is conducted in accordance with Sections 112–114 of the German Air Personnel Licensing Regulation (LuftPersV).

During approximately 14 weeks of full-time training, participants develop the practical skills required for the role of a Flight Operations Officer. The training takes place on-site at the TUI Group Operations Centre in Hanover-Langenhagen , providing direct insights into the processes, systems, and operational environment of a modern airline operations control center.

Building on the theoretical knowledge acquired in Phase 1, relevant subject areas are systematically reviewed and reinforced, and then immediately applied to operational tasks and realistic flight operations scenarios. Participants progress step-by-step from guided training and exercises to supervised application in an operational environment.

The training thus goes significantly beyond purely classroom-based exercises. Participants experience how meteorology, flight planning, fuel planning, aircraft performance, operational restrictions, flight monitoring, and disruption management interact in daily airline operations and how different information is evaluated to support safe and efficient operational decisions.

Phase 2 constitutes the practical training section of the German FOO licensing pathway . Successful completion of the training alone does not automatically lead to the issuance of a license. All theoretical and practical requirements of the German licensing procedure must be met for this. Upon successful completion of Phase 2 and

fulfillment
of all other requirements of the licensing procedure, participants can proceed with the practical examination and subsequent acquisition of the Flight Operations Officer (FOO) license in the German LBA licensing process.

Training format:
Duration: approx. 14 weeks full-time.
Location: TUI Group Operations Centre, Hannover-Langenhagen.
Training format: Classroom training, practical exercises, and supervised operational training
. Delivery: exclusively on-site.

A valid security clearance in accordance with Section 7 of the German Aviation Security Act (LuftSiG) (ZÜP) is required for participation in the operational training.
