Applied Flight Operations Training – Three-Month Program

From operational knowledge to real-world Flight Operations

Working effectively in Flight Operations requires more than theoretical knowledge alone. It requires the ability to understand operational information, assess its relevance, make sound decisions and apply that knowledge in a dynamic airline environment.

Our three-month Practical FOO Training combines the consolidation of essential theoretical knowledge with its immediate application in operational practice. The theoretical elements are based on the subject areas relevant to the practical phase of Flight Operations Officer training as defined within the ICAO Doc. 10106.

Throughout the program, key theoretical topics are revisited, consolidated and directly connected to realistic operational situations. Participants therefore do not learn individual subjects in isolation, but experience how meteorology, flight planning, fuel considerations, aircraft performance, operational regulations and other relevant disciplines interact in day-to-day Flight Operations.

Based on our extensive experience in the practical training of Flight Operations Officers, the program provides participants with a structured understanding of the workflows, responsibilities, tools and decision-making processes of a modern Operations Control Center.

Over the course of three months, participants progressively develop their operational competencies through a combination of theoretical knowledge consolidation, guided exercises and application within realistic Flight Operations scenarios.

A particular strength of the program is this direct connection between knowledge and application: theoretical subjects are reviewed when they become operationally relevant and are subsequently applied to practical tasks and decision-making situations.

This training is offered as a standalone professional qualification program. Participation does not lead to a Flight Operations Officer licence and does not replace the formal requirements of a licensing process.

Who is this training for?

  • Individuals who want to develop comprehensive Flight Operations and OCC competencies before applying for an operational role.
  • Participants with aviation knowledge who want to consolidate their theoretical understanding and develop the ability to apply it in practice.
  • Existing airline or OCC employees moving into Flight Operations or Dispatch functions.
  • Airlines and aviation organizations looking for a structured theoretical and practical Flight Operations qualification program for their employees.
The programme provides the operational bridge between aviation knowledge and the realities of day-to-day Flight Operations.
